The IMX686 is a 64 mega-pixel CMOS active pixel type stacked image sensor with a square pixel array in the sensors. It is significantly larger than its 1/2 inch predecessor IMX586 and provides detailed shots and image sharpness. It also shows more image content when compared to IMX586. The IMX686 supports 4K resolution video recording at 30fps and has the ability to capture 9248 x 6944 pixels with real-time HDR support.
